Nadin's Special Day

It's Nadin's 19th birthday and instead of us giving her a cake, she was the one who gave us a cake. It was just a simple celebration. After our law class, we wen't to this really nice place in Jaro. The Garden Cafe is just a typical cafe but the place and its ambiance is nothing ordinary. We were supposed to have a dinner there but since the chef was not around, we settled to eat at the nearby Jollibee. And there was a really cute boy there who happened to be the manager. After having our dinner, me, Shane, Donna and Nads went back to the Garden Cafe for a drink. Honestly, I was disappointed with their drinks, but it can be compensated by the fact that the people and place was nice.

As a gift, Dianne, Donna and Me bought her 2 hamsters which she named Rex and Bellatrix.

Not In Super High Spirits

Finally. I could breathe and rest my heart and brain from the agony of anticipating the results of my 2 MAJOR exams. The results weren't as disastrous as I thought it would be. I didn't pass my law exams but the thought that I wasn't the only one was comforting enough. In my BA 161 (Law) exam, only ONE passed. I had to make up for my score deficit and I already told myself not to expect for an exemption at the end of the semester. I would be really happy if I can just pass the subject.

My BA 114 exam was better. I passed! But only because of the mercy of my teacher who adjusted the equivalent grades of the scores. I'm one of lucky 12 who passed the exam but somehow I don't feel really happy. My scores was still low and I hadn't bunked enough scores for my 2nd long exam. I'm not contented with my scores because in reality, I didn't reach the 80% mark. And I knew I could have done better if only I studied seriously and used my time wisely.

With fingers crossed, I'm hoping I could do better in my succeeding exams and that I would still be retained in the accountancy program.

For a change and as part of its foundation week celebration UPV had a street painting activity entitled Pinta Banas, Pinta Alagyan. It's really refreshing to see the path walk so colorful and representing different academic organizations. So here's a glimpse of the paintings...

On Being Numb

How can somebody say you're NUMB? Does it count when you don't have that ticklish feeling when somebody tickles you? Or perhaps, being not angry when people make so much fun of you? Well, I guess, that won't be enough to say that somebody is numb.

I hate it when people say I'm numb. Coz in reality, i'm way TOO sensitive. I'm not just so vocal and showy about it. I don't really want to make a big fuss out of it. And people are not just observant of me. They laugh at me, I laugh with them. They say something bad about me, I ignore them. That's not being numb and it doesn't mean I feel nothing. I do feel. I feel happy, sad, nervous, angry and pissed off. But sometimes, there are things I can't really handle. And that's the point where they would see a different me. I bet you they wouldn't like to see that. In my stay in UP, things hadn't gone that far. Luckily.

HP7: It All ENDS Here

To take our minds off 114 we decided to watch the final installment of the series. It was EPIC. It was nicer and I can understand it more, especially because my seatmate, Elecza explain it to me, though I missed some part of the thrills because of it. According to her, it was the closest adaptation of the books in the series.

I think HP7 Part 2 should be renamed: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. Haha. In the movie, Neville really had a different role,  compared to his past roles in the installment. People in the cinema had better comments and reactions to him than the other characters.

I used to hate Snape before. I really thought he was the evil guy. But in the end. He really wasn't. He was trying to save Harry, Lily's child, his beloved. What he had done were all because of orders, because of love.

Bellatrix' death was somehow more appealing and forceful compared to Voldemort. I was expecting that his death was the very highlight of the movie, but then it wasn't. After 19 years, it was nice to see the world of wizards and witches peaceful. And to see Harry and Ginny's children. They were all so adorable, especially, Albus Severus Potter.

I wanted to read the books but I guess its kinda too late since it's all over. Someday, when our generation grew old, Harry Potter, his friends, Voldermort, Hogwarts and the rest of the wizard world will be a classic. Those children who grew up with us, in front of our eyes, will never be forgotten. They will all be a part of one of the greatest book and movie series that the world ever knew.

The Past 2 Weeks at a Glance

I hadn't written a post in two weeks. The past two weeks was really hectic and I became terribly busy with school works and other stuffs. I wasn't able to manage my time so wisely so I didn't get extra time to write about what's happening to me. So here's a list of what kept me preoccupied for the past 2 weeks:

CM ACQUAINTANCE PARTY. This year's theme concentrated on advocacy. Ours, was about environmental protection. There were many activities but my favorite were the photo exhibit, modeling and the live band performance of KREONZ.  Our batch's photo exhibit featured Elmark's photos. For me, our batch had a good chance of making it to the top 3. But sadly, we weren't the judges. However, we showed our prowess in the modeling competition. We won 1st!!! I guess we placed 4th in the final ranking. It's kinda sad but we have to deal with it.

My Beloved RetroSci Family.

COMM3 SECOND SPEECH. We were asked to choose a news and tell it to a class like a story. My topic was about the exit clearance. Well, I really  don't memorize it as much as my first speech but it turned out that others were more unprepared than me.

BA 114. 1 AND LAW LONG EXAMS. BA 114.1 was my first exam for the semester. I wasn't really prepared, considering that my mind was set to take the exam supposedly on the 20th. But because of the foundation activities, it was moved earlier:( The exam wasn't as hard as I expect it but it was still hard. The same goes for my Law exam. I had to study hard but I ended up doing less important things. So I really won't expect high scores, but I just hope I will pass:)

JPIA ACQUAINTANCE PARTY. This year the theme as Foedus Origo. It has something to do with the horsemen of the apocalypse. For my house, SKOUSEN, we were given the horseman of death. We placed last on the overall rankings, which didn't include the attendance. If included, we have a possibility of placing 3rd.  Honestly, the party was a bit boring compared to the first 2 I attended. I somehow had the feeling of regret in attending. I hope I just had spent my time studying for my Law exam.

KOREAN NOODLES ENCOUNTER. While reading a blog, Nadin just came up with an idea to eat something Korean. Being game, Donna said she knows this Korean Grocery in Jaro. Were just so random that the next thing I knew we were already in the jeepney excited to try something new. We bought 3 different noodles and Nads bought a super nice coffee and she was lucky that her noodles weren't spicy. By the way, It was my first time to try Korean Noodles and I ate it using chopsticks (which I don't know how to use).

WATERFALL HAIR BRAID. Instead of studying for our 114.1 exams, Nadin was eager to know how to make a waterfall hairbraid so she browsed Youtube and found a tutorial. And tried it on me!:)

ANGRY BIRDS. People had been going crazy over this Angry Birds thing. I got curious and the next thing I knew I was playing it on Google Chrome instead of studying!:)

The past weeks had been so stressful. But I guess the first batch of HELL WEEK was over. All that's left to do now is have a rest...

*The photos were not taken by me. I took the liberty of browsing through my friends' photos.

Musically Inclined

11:29:00 AM ivannejuare 1 Comments

I love music. I love songs. I love seeing people play instruments. I would love to play too... but I don't know how:( I'd like to compose songs and put melodies to it. I'd like to see people listening to my music. But I don't think that would ever happen coz I don't know how to play any instruments. I wished my parents would have enrolled me to a summer class in playing an instrument, but unfortunately, my summer was never really been exciting. Had I have the money to enroll myself in a class, these are the top 3 instruments I would really love to play:

On No. 3: Guitar

On No. 2: Piano

On No. 1: VIOLIN!

For whatever reason, I just love hearing the sound of violins and seeing people play it.
