Steins; Gate

A friend of mine gave me a copy of the anime Steins; Gate. I wasn't really keen of getting a copy of it but I've got no choice since he gave me a copy of it anyways. I guess it has something to do with time travels and that friend of mine said it has some similarity to Death Note. I don't really know what to expect but I hope it's an interesting one.

Light and Dark

Death Note had been so popular a few years ago. I've heard some of my friends talk about it but I never really put much attention to it. It was last year, while my brother and I were looking for something to watch on a fateful night during Holy Week that we stumbled across this channel showing a japanese movie. I instantly found it interesting and realized that it was a movie adaptation of the anime Death Note. I saw all three of the movies in the succeeding months after, thanks to a friend who had a copy of the other 2.

My other friend told me that the film was lame and nothing compared to the anime which I sort of objected, even though I wasn't able to watch the anime. I ended up asking a friend of mine a copy of Death Note which I intend to watch this summer just so I could really compare them.

My favorite character is L. He is just so cute, amazing and funny. My friends told me that the portrayal of L in the film is really really close to that of L from the anime.

The Slowpoke Bookworm

Just when Harry Potter and Hogwarts had been sidelined by new and on going series of books and movies, I decided to get to know him more. Yes, I just started reading the books, or better yet, PDFs. I'm currently on the 4th book of the series. I've seen all the movies, but I never really read the books. I had this classmate in high school who have a copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and I borrowed it from her. I seriously can't understand much of the first chapter. I had to reread the succeeding chapter for a couple of times and I still don't get it. In the end, I gave up. I believe I only lasted for 5 chapters. Since then, I never thought I would love to read novels.

College change my views. It made me more of a bookworm. I've finished the Twilight Saga, but never had the resolve to read Harry Potter. The craze had somehow ended with the 8th movie installment of the series. I think JK Rowling, Harry Potter, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, Hogwarts and the rest of the world of magic will forever be a legend. Someday, it will become a classic. I can't just face the fact that a day would come and my children would ask me about it and I can't  explain every detail of it. That is why I decided to read it. I wanted to buy the books, but the I can't find a copy of the first book. I don't even have money to buy the whole set, which is also unavailable. That is why, although I was never fond of reading e-books, I decided to read it all the same. After all, the Harry Potter series is not just some simple and ordinary book at all. I grew up with the character of the series and experienced a world of magic with them that would always be remembered, even though the books and the films had been concluded.
